Jasper and Glass Bead Necklace

Here is a necklace I strung recently as a gift for our local Baroness on the occasional of her step down.
The pendant is jasper set in silver and the beads are glass. They are strung on tiger tail wire.

Cabochon Necklace Made From Re-purposed Bracelets

As you would know by now, I love quick projects with a lot of impact. And creating jewellery certainly ticks those boxes!
I bought some cabochon bracelets very cheaply at an end of season sale a few years ago, and recently decided to make them into a necklace.
I had to find some small silver jump rings that I had in the stash, to match the ones that the bracelets came with. Locating the jump rings was the hardest part of the project.

I re-connected the cabochon settings to form a necklace, and added one of the easy-to-do-up clasps that my friend recommended for me, as I have so many issues with my hands.
The colour of the stones varies from wine to purple, depending on the light. I am very pleased with how this quick project turned out, and I think it will go well with sixteenth century Italian and English clothing styles that I wear.

Thrift store find

Another lovely thrift store find. I plan to remove the chain on this one and add a long, looped pearl necklace. I might add some little tiger eye beads as well. The stone on the brooch needs a bit of a polish as it has seen some wear. I will post pictures when it is done.

Necklaces

Here are some necklaces that I strung recently.

This is a necklace that I made for myself. I bought the silver and enamel pendant about twenty years ago at a 'going out of business' sale. I had never put it on a necklace and had honestly forgotten all about it until I found it a couple of weeks ago. I was delighted to realise that the seahorse to sinister and the silver and purple all match my SCA device. So I strung it on tiger tail with a mix of freshwater pearls and black glass beads.

I made this necklace as a gift. The purchased onyx pendant is set in silver and the pearls are freshwater baroque pearls.

This necklace was also a gift. The beads are maroon glass, and foiled red and turquoise glass beads, and the metal pendant is an antiquity. It is a Byzantine pendant dug up on what was probably a trade route in Bulgaria.
