Kumihimo cords

I'm still not getting much done at all except for puppy related activities. Lack of sleep is not helping either. It's hard to imagine at this point that one day she will be able to sit calmly beside me while I sew!


Cord making is about all I am able to attempt at the moment without Kamikaze style attacks ensuing. These were done on a Kumihimo disk. This is the simplest 8 cord, round cord pattern which is worked in pairs (so there are 4 sets of cords on the disk at noon, six, three and nine).

Award Cords Completed and Sent

My first lot of award cords are finished and have been delivered. I enjoyed experimenting with different braiding styles and I will continue to work on these when I have time as I imagine that the Crown and Barons and Baronesses always require award cords.

Fingerloop Braiding Progress

I have continued to experiment with 5 bowe fingerloop braiding, and have been trying different thicknesses of thread and different tensions. I am really enjoying it and have been surprised at the different results little differences to tension can make.

Braid mania!



This is the entry token for the Midwinter Coronation that I recently attended. I just love that braid, and it inspired me to finally do something about learning to make narrow wares and braids.

So I bought this book from one of the lovely local merchants:







And when I got home from the event, my excellent Sister gave me this as a present!





I think the Universe may be trying to tell me something!
