Award Cord Project
Paperwork and admin has been keeping me busy lately. I haven't had much time, but I have been able to be able to continue working on the award cord project. The ones below are simple three strand braids. It is a simple technique but effective. The tension is quite tight, which results in a firm braid, and the result is nice.

More Fingerloop Braiding
I have continued to practice my five loop braids and I am now experimenting with different textures. I am also working on maintaining tension in the longer braids; I want to make quite long ones but I can't seem to get the tension even when they are long.

More finger loop braids
Well, the chest infection that apparently never ends turned into pleurisy, and that is why I have been feeling so decidedly ordinary. I feel much less guilty about getting nothing done; although the frustration never goes away.
I have continued to experiment with the five bow fingerloop braids, and I feel like I am starting to see progress. I want to really get the hang of this form before I branch out into other patterns and more bowes. Tension is improving.

Fingerloop Braiding Progress
I have continued to experiment with 5 bowe fingerloop braiding, and have been trying different thicknesses of thread and different tensions. I am really enjoying it and have been surprised at the different results little differences to tension can make.

Experimenting with Finger Loop Braids
I've been sick for the last four weeks or so with a persistent chest infection, tracheitis and ear infection. I've been feeling more lethargic than usual, and have taken the opportunity to continue my experiments with fibre arts. I have learned basic knitting stitches, basic crochet stitches, and finally conquered a simple finger loop braid.
Mistress Collette from Innilgard showed me how to do the 5-loop braid last year, but I just couldn't seem to get the hang of it. Cue Youtube, and I finally understand how to do it! I am really pleased with this new skill and look forward to continuing with finger loop braiding.

My first attempt. Obviously my tension needs work, but I feel like I am on my way!

A&S 100 Challenge - Day 2 (Finger Loop Braiding)
Today's challenge was to attempt fingerloop braiding for the first time.
It was interesting; I understand the process and the terminology much better now. I don't think my stiff, sore fingers are dexterous enough to ever be comfortable doing fingerlooping, but I will keep practicing until I can get the tension right on a simple braid.
